Sharing our Expertise on Global Grants
Manon Mitchell
After 8 years of overseeing projects in Cambodia, Manon Mitchell will be sharing her expertise at both District Conference and the RI International Convention in Melbourne Australia.
Manon was mentored by our late Rotarian Walter Haessle, "Had it not been for Walter's creative mind and ever present mentoring, I don't know if my projects would be as successful today or even if I would have launched the first one in 2014 in Cambodia. Walter provided alternative ways of working through the many challenges in having projects approved and to this day, when presented with a road block, I always tell myself: What would Walter have done?"
Three consecutive education projects have been successfully delivered to date, with the third is in its final phases. You can check out our club's CLIP project here.
At District Conference, Manon presented a breakout session entitled: "From Foundation Dollars to Providing Real Skills", taking people on a journey of successes and pitfalls to watch for as one moves from Project Planning, through Project Implementation and finally Project Close Out.
In Melbourne at the RI Convention, Manon has been asked by Carolyn Johnson who is the Chair of the Basic Education and Literacy Rotary Action Group (BELRAG), to participate in a breakout session panel discussion. Manon will present “Developing Effective Partnerships” based on her experience in Cambodia.
