Aaron Balasch introduced our speaker, club member Michael Broadhurst, who delivered an informative update on our club's WCS projects in Uganda. Michael began his talk by acknowledging contributions of club members Garth and Ann Tombs, John Ridge and others in launching these projects, in addition to Manon Mitchell and Kurt Kowalchuk, and Days for Girls

The projects Michael described, at a school in Manyama, Uganda, included a Water and Sanitation (WASH) project, and providing new school uniforms to the school's students. The importance of the school uniforms stems from the fact most students only have one set of clothing, and that clothing determines how the students fit in socially with their peers.

The WASH project is also important as the lessons students learn about good hygeine are brought home to their families. These projects are merely a sampling of the activities of the World Community Service (WCS) committee.

WCS is a dedicated and compassionate group of business leaders committed to providing leadership and ongoing support to humanitarian, educational and economic assistance projects that make a sustainable difference in the lives of those less fortunate in communities in multiple regions around the world.
