With 24,000 undergraduate and 6,000 graduate students, U of C is ranked number one in the “Young University” category in North America. Its 14 faculties, including Education, Engineering, Arts, Law, Kinesiology, Veterinary and Business contributed to its ranking of 195th in the world in 2016-2017.
The university is becoming a global international hub with international students comprising 7 per cent of undergraduates and 26 per cent of graduate students. International experience was gained by 24 per cent of students under a one million dollar program.
Strategic research themes include: Energy Innovations, Engineering Solutions for Health, Brain and Mental Health, New Earth-Space Technologies, Human Dynamics in a Changing World and Infections and Chronic Disease.
Agreements are in place with businesses in the energy sector in China and Mexico, while an international development agreement is in place with health authorities in Tanzania.
The university has been recognized by the Canadian Bureau for International Education with its 2016 Business Excellence Award.
