Dr. Sunil Verma is a Professor and Head of the Department of Oncology at the University of Calgary.  He is also the Medical Director of the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and the Medical Lead for the New Calgary Cancer Center.  
 
He started his undergrad studies at University of Calgary and then completed his medical degree and postgraduate training in internal medicine and medical oncology at the University of Alberta in Canada. Dr. Verma also completed a fellowship in breast cancer at the University of Toronto and a Masters degree in Medical Education at the University of Southern California.  

 
Bob Taylor introduced our speaker, Dr. Sunil Verma.  Dr. Verma spoke on Cancer Care Now and in the Future: Personalized, Precise and Patient-Centered. 
 
The talk described the evolution of cancer care and how Alberta hopes to treat cancer to make treatment the most effective possible.  The road to precision therapy is to characterize tumor biology, develop tailored therapy, and the individualize treatment.
