Bruce Graham introduced our guest speaker. Bruce gave some insight into our featured speaker.
Adam is the President of Rotary Stampede Live (RSL), a new joint venture between Stampede Entertainment Inc. (SEI) and the Rotary Club of Calgary, Downtown.
SEI is a joint venture between White Iron Inc. (WII) and the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede (CES), they provide artists for the Saddledome and the Coke stage as well as Nashville North during the Calgary Stampede as well as promote other concerts around the province.
Adam has a background in music. Received his B.A from the University of Alberta and an
MBA and Law degree from the University of Calgary. His first company was called Funk Lotion Promotion.
- The music business (festival concerts) is experiencing difficult times in Canada with Pemberton Music Festival shutting down and declaring bankruptcy and with four Toronto area music festivals also closing their doors
- The issue has many factors including: a proliferation of music festivals in Canada driving up the cost of the talent, the lower Canadian dollar with artists being paid in USD, and finally the grim economic reality of Calgary today so people are planning on attending fewer concerts per capita than previously
- Our Fort Calgary concerts feature artists but are avoiding the artists that would bankrupt us
- Stampede Shaker is an extreme value proposition: The offer is $29 for admission, dinner, and two drinks (plus Stampede gate admission)
- On sale since last Monday, so far we sold around 5,000 tickets in just over one week (and almost 11,000 tickets sold for both events so far)
- Oxford Stomp has great sponsors
- Stampede Shaker is looking to fill the largest of the sponsorship area and are looking for many smaller corporate sponsors looking for great value
- Please ask your corporate network to assist bringing interested parties to the table (for less than 10 tickets guide them toward the ticket buttons on the websites, for 10 or more or other opportunities guide them towards the sales team, contact via website
- Websites are www.stampedeshaker.com and www.oxfordstomp.com
- Our model is designed to ensure people a good time for a ticket they can afford
