New Zealand Friendship Exchange

Our District is organizing a friendship exchange for next year - and members can indicate their wish to be included - and to host the Kiwi Rotarians when they come to Calgary for 3 or 4 days of Stampede next summer (July 2027).
Some years ago, two of us from our club went on such an Exchange to Sydney, Australia; we each (Yegana Allard and me) enjoyed it so much we are both keen to join this Exchange and to host when they come to Calgary. That is how good they are!

Picture yourself (or your members) exploring some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world- towering mountains, crystal-clear lakes, dramatic coastlines, and vibrant cities. From the adventure capital of Queenstown to the cultural richness of Christchurch and the stunning natural beauty of Fiordland National Park, this exchange offers far more than sightseeing. It is a chance to build lifelong friendships with fellow Rotarians who share our commitment to service and international understanding.

Rotary Friendship Exchanges are built on personal connections. Participants stay in Rotarian homes, experience daily life, and form meaningful bonds that often last a lifetime. It’s not tourism; it’s genuine cultural immersion and Rotary fellowship at its best.

Participation Details:
- We are seeking 5 to 6 participants (couples or singles) to represent District 5360 in the outbound exchange.
- More importantly, we are looking for a minimum of 5 clubs willing to host the inbound group from New Zealand for approximately 3 days each during their visit to our district.

- Send our outbound group to New Zealand in March 2027
- Receive the inbound group from New Zealand in July 2027
Hosting is a rewarding experience for clubs and members alike. It provides a unique opportunity to showcase our communities, share Canadian hospitality, and strengthen Rotary’s international network.
Please note that while hosting is not mandatory to participate, priority will be given to clubs that commit to hosting as we work to ensure a balanced and successful exchange.
