JWD Luncheon - Smiles all Around
Manon Mitchell

On Tuesday April 25, Bruce Fenwick and his team presented a wonderfully uplifting celebration of the legacy of James Wheeler Davidson, “Water Changes Everything”. Upon arriving guests were felt immediately transported by the music of Anastasia on violin and the wonderfully welcoming team of Lisa, Eric and Doug.
Members also noticed the beautiful banner holder design and built by Brom. Now we have somewhere to display the exchange banners we accumulate through our travels to other Rotary Clubs. Did you notice our new exchange banner? Did you see what image was placed at the top of the centre banner?

Madeleine kicked off the meeting with Michael playing O’Canada and all joining in with their enthusiastic voices. Lois Mitchell provided a beautiful invocation and Bruce introduced the agenda for the meeting.

Our 3 speakers shared wonderful insights. Dr. Bob Lampard had new bits of information regarding James Wheeler Davidson. Bob Weins from RC at Stampede Park did lots of research and provided tons of information regarding all the water projects executed by many many clubs in our District. Finally Shauna Curry, CEO of CAWST, gave us a bit of history of CAWST and talked about the impact of all of the wonderful activities and support they provide world wide. She also underscored the support of Rotary at every step of their journey.

We took a quick International tour through Italy (Salad), India (Rogan Josh with naan) and Mexico (Churros) with food provided by the Palliser.

There was a definite buzz in the air as Rotarians and guests enjoyed each other’s company. What a great lunch! Don’t miss next year’s.
