“Live, Love, Learn, and Leave a Legacy” is the mantra that defines Trevor Ironside’s life. Renowned for his tireless philanthropic work, Trevor has made significant contributions through organizations like One Child’s Village, Medical Mercy Canada, and as the International Director for the Rotary Club of Calgary Downtown (RCCD).“There are more than 2,000 charities to join in Calgary, but few offer what our Rotary club does. Yes, we have inspiring people, experience, and financial resources, but most importantly, we have a trustworthy global network of 35,000 Rotary clubs eager to collaborate with us and make the world a better place,” Trevor says, underscoring the unique value of RCCD.
Born in Midale, Saskatchewan, Trevor’s journey began with a foundation in engineering- a discipline that shaped his approach to problem-solving and innovation. Today, he wears many hats, including serving as President of Atlas Resources Limited. Beyond his professional life, Trevor is deeply involved in his community as a hockey coach and cherishes his roles as a father and grandfather.

Transforming Lives in Nepal
One of Trevor’s most inspiring achievements is co-founding the Karuna All Girls College in Nepal alongside his close friend, Metteyya Sakyaputta, a Buddhist monk. This institution provides inclusive education to over 500 young girls from Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, and Christian communities, offering them a path away from the traditional norms of early marriage and childbirth.
“Secondary education gives young girls a confident voice in their households and communities,” Trevor explains. His work with the college is a testament to his belief in the transformative power of education, especially for young women in underserved regions.
Looking Ahead
Trevor envisions a future where he continues to champion opportunities for teenage girls to uplift their communities while advancing the initiatives of RCCD’s World Community Service Committee. His dedication to creating a better world remains unwavering, and his efforts inspire others to follow suit.
