Sean Baylis- Youth Director

Sean joined the Rotary Club of Calgary to establish professional contacts and to help do something for those less fortunate. He has excelled in both areas, leading to his current appointment as Youth Director. You may know Sean as a Portfolio Manager and Wealth Advisor, a colleague with the Stay in School Program or as a hockey teammate. Sean likes to stay busy.Sean has a B.Ed. from University of Calgary and a M.SC. from Walden University. Currently Senior Portfolio Manager and Wealth Advisor with RBC Dominion Securities, he was instrumental in developing the 4D investment process- Discovery, Design, Deploy, Discuss- that he uses daily to ensure all clients investment and wealth management needs are met.
Since his introduction to Rotary by his Grandfather in-law, Gordon Leslie, Sean has had a strong commitment to services for youth. He was Chair of the Stay in School Program for a number of years and remains active with that group. He is proud of the services (including mentorship and a “safe haven” for youth) offered through Marmie’s House and links with Youth Centre YYC.
With his wife, Dianna, he enjoys golf at the Early Grey golf course and also skis and plays hockey (Sean volunteers with Hockey Evaluation Glendale Hockey). Sean is the Team Captain for the RBC cycling team. Rotary curling has featured in Sean’s activities for several years and he likes meeting different people and attending different Rotary Club meetings.
In the future, Sean hopes business will allow more time for Rotary. He would like to travel and be involved with Rotary international activities. He sees a possible expanded role in Club and District Rotary Management. Whatever the future may offer, Sean will rise to the occasion contributing to the well-being of others.
