Good News Story from Kenya in Time for Christmas

Here's a story that will bring a smile to your face and joy in your heart!
We first joined forces with the Rotary Club of Nairobi Karengata in June of 2017 when attempting to make some improvements to the Kajiado School. The initial project was rejected and two smaller projects resulted.
First was a renovation of the kitchen for USD8,000. (funded entirely by our Club) and the second a Global Grant (our project funded by The Rotary Foundation and our Rotary District 5360) for the installation of bathrooms, showers, toilets and a septic system (USD58,000).
Both projects were completed on time and on budget. The results of the projects for the students and staff has been terrific. But, I think, the best result is the ongoing involvement of the club in the school.
Until we partnered up, the Karengata club had had no relationship with the school but since then it has been involved on an ongoing basis. It was instrumental in establishing an INTERACT CLUB which has been operating successfully for approximately 2 years.
The pictures below show one of the activities the club has undertaken. The Karengata members traveled to the School and put on a Christmas party for the Bride Rescue Girls who live at the School.
Check out the website for the club and see how active it is. Not sure how many members there are now but when we first started working with the club there were 14 members. This is a very dynamic group.
This same club has lead the completion of the kitchen in the Kibera slums of Nairobi for which our club contributed USD10,200.
