Immediately President Rob issued the Call to Order and asked Manon to lead the assembled in the singing of O Canada.

Then Cheryl Hamelin was called upon to offer the invocation, se did so with grace and aplomb. This beautiful sentiment was in contrast to Eric Bennett who was heard praying "Please, Lord, let me prove that winning the lottery won’t spoil me.” The club was then invited to dine with the admonition to behave.  We were told "Remember – you might be a redneck if your family reunion is held at a rest area."

FLASH:  ANNOUNCEMENTS

The meeting resumed with great energy as President Rob thanked the volunteers at the front desk.

THIS JUST IN: Eric Bennett announced the visitors and guests.  Among the many announcements under visitors and guests – we were told that Julie Visser had a record-setting number of guests many of whom were her colleagues at Rogers Insurance.  We were very happy to welcome the Rogers folks, and hope that their company will consider a corporate membership in our club.

NEW MEMBER:  Garth Toombs announced that Past District Governor Mark Strarratt is joining our club.  Mark has been very active in Rotary over the years, at times representing the President of Rotary at various functions in addition to his extensive work under the banner “Make Dreams Real” Mark’s motto as District Governor.  Welcome to the club Mark.

FRANK SPARKS has announced (in abcentia – an island in Hawaii) that the Frank N Stein meeting will be held at the Brown’s Social House on Elbow Drive Thursday February 18 from 4:30 – 7:00 P.M.  Incidentally, it was further reported that recently Frank ran into Tim Heaton’s Pharmacy crying “Tim, Tim, your car was stolen!”  Tim replied “Did you see who it was?”  “No” replied Frank, “But I got his license number.”

NEXT MEETING:
President Rob announced the next meeting is February 16 in the Crystal Ballroom, our guest speakers will be Ryan Green of the Masters Gallery and Tom Jackson.
