Christmas Traditions Among Rotarians
Manon Mitchell

As the Big Book Sale Transition Committee concluded its final meeting and inaugurated the first gathering of the Big Book Sale Committee, we took the opportunity to discuss and celebrate the traditions we uphold during this festive season.
Steven Allan has an Elf on the Shelf doing different things each day.

Trevor Axworthy will be enjoying the year Fondue event which he brought back from his trip overseas many years ago.

Mike Colbourne visits his sister and their families attend midnight mass with a lovely dinner shared by everyone.

Randy Topolnitsky celebrates 2 Christmases, the regular one and the Orthodox one and, of course, includes traditional foods and cooking with poppy seeds.

Steacy has a big pyjama bag which contains “jammies” for everyone plus a book or puzzles. In addition, on Christmas eve, she has adopted Jolabokaflod which is an Icelandic tradition of giving books on Christmas Eve.

Dawn Cruikshank gets a new ornament each year for her kids; it is a tradition that started with her grandmother and continues to today.

Manon continues the tradition of cooking up a big meal for her entire family; this year there will be 16 around the table enjoying stories and great times together.

We hope you have a wonderful Christmas or whatever the celebration which brings you, your family and other loved ones together at this time.
