Welcome to our club newsletter! As always, it's been a month filled with exciting events, activities, and impactful initiatives. We're thrilled to announce the success of our pop-up thrift store hosted right here at our school! Thanks to the generous donations from our school community, we were able to offer a wide array of pre-loved clothing, accessories, and other items at affordable prices. Not only did this event promote sustainability by encouraging reuse and recycling, but it was also successful in raising funds for the amazing cause of pediatric healthcare at the Alberta Children's Hospital. In our ongoing efforts to make a positive impact on global health, we organized a bake sale to raise both awareness and funds for the eradication of polio. Every dollar raised through the bake sale brought us one step closer to a polio-free world, and helped raise awareness for a disease that is too often overlooked.
As part of Kindness Week, we organized a variety of activities aimed at spreading love, compassion, and positivity throughout our school community. From writing kind messages to painting rocks with uplifting designs, we embraced creativity and kindness through our activities. These simple yet meaningful gestures remind us of the importance of kindness in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for everyone. In addition to our in school activities, this month saw us working with a wide range of organizations across the city in order to make a difference and help those in need. This month, we had the privilege of volunteering at the Bethany Care Centre, spending time with residents, listening to their stories, and brightening their days through a variety of activities and games. Partnering with the Women in Need Society, we had the opportunity to support vulnerable women in our community by aiding with the sorting of the organization's donations.
At Inn from the Cold, a shelter providing refuge and support to homeless individuals and families, we offered a helping hand to those in need through a dinner service. Hosting a blood drive proved to be one of the most impactful events of the month. With each donation, we had the opportunity to save lives and make a tangible difference in our community.
