Dear Rtn. Pres. Joe Fras and the members of the Rotary Club of Calgary,
Subject: Upcoming Centennial Celebration of the Rotary Club of Madras (RCM)
I am delighted to share that our Rotary Club, the Rotary Club of Madras in District 3234, Chennai, India, is approaching its Centennial year in less than four years.
This milestone will also be significant for all Rotary clubs in Southern India, as RCM is the first Rotary club to be chartered in the South, on July 19, 1929.
On July 1, 2028, we will officially commence our Centennial year, and we plan to host year-long celebrations, incorporating project launches and completions.
We would like to extend a special invitation to Rotary clubs, not only our sister clubs but also those from the JWD Rotary fraternity, to honor our founder, the late Rtn. James Wheeler Davidson of the Rotary Club of Calgary.
Moreover, we invite all Rotary clubs and Rotarians who have supported us throughout our journey to join us in these celebrations.
Please consider this as advance notice to help you plan to be with us on the main celebration day, which we will announce well in advance. We hope you will spend a few days with us as our guests, experiencing the warm hospitality of Chennai and the camaraderie of our 290 RCM members.
I have been entrusted with the responsibility of sharing this announcement and providing you with information as we move forward.
