Dan Doherty is past President of Calgary West Rotary, where he has been an active member for 35 years. Dan was the District Chair for the District New Generations in Action Committee, and involved with RYLA for 20 years. Dan has a passion for advocating for and empowering Youth especially those without a voice. Currently Dan is very engaged with students at Tsuu Tina High School, as well as the Aboriginal program at the Boys and Girls Club. He is the past Chair of Hull Child and Family Services, Accessible Housing, and the Calgary Rotary Clubs Foundation. Dan has been on thirteen Mexico Home building trips and is currently organizing the 14th Homes of Hope trip in March 2018 alongside his Rotarian wife Marlene. Recently having returned from a Polio NID in Ethiopia and mission work in Uganda Dan is reinvigorated in the Rotary Polio eradication fight. Dan was recently awarded the Distinguished “Service Above Self Award”, the highest tribute awarded in the Rotary World.
