Uplifting Stories from our Syrian Program Initiative

We've all seen the terrible pictures and heard many of the horrific stories of the experiences of Syrian refugees. Right here in Calgary, our own club in collaboration with other Calgary Rotarians, has taken the initiative to assist our Calgary newcomers. Our District has also recognized this project as worthy of District funds.

It's easy for us as Canadian to bundle all newcomers in the same category, however the refugee experience is quite different than those of immigrants who have chosen Canada as their new homeland. Our club has recognized the difference and has worked closely with the Syrian Women's Club of Calgary to come in aid of the refugees who have been relocated here.

Ghada and Manon will share stories of hope and action. You'll get to hear directly from Syrian newcomers Rita and Salim, about their experiences and how our club's efforts have impacted their life.

Join us for one of those "not to be missed" meetings!
