On Monday, Sept. 28 the incoming Interact board and their families met with Rotary Club of Whidbey-Westside to socialize, install the new officers, and get fired up about the year ahead.

Established in 2013, the student club is part of Interact International, a Rotary youth network created to promote leadership, international participation, and community service. With approximately 11,000 clubs and 250,000 members worldwide, Interact is one of Rotary’s fastest growing organizations.

The incoming board members expressed a desire to grow the the club this year and expand the scope of club projects and service in the future.

The Interact Club of South Whidbey High School is doing its part, with projects like Operations Gratitude that sent letters and packages to military personnel overseas. Other initiatives include a successful food booth at Whidbey Island Arts festival, and a landscaping project for the Whidbey Children’s Theater.
