Rotary District 5080 Group Study Exchange Sub-Committee seeks Team Leader for the Group Study Exchange Team to D4510 Brazil

The District Group Study Exchange Sub-Committee is now accepting applications for Team Leader for the exchange to D4510 (Brazil) that is scheduled for April 20 – May 20, 2013. D4510, described as an ecological paradise, is located in the mid-western region of Sao Paulo State. Metal industries, textile manufacturing and agriculture including coffee, sugar cane and oranges make this state the economic and industrial powerhouse of the Brazilian economy.

Applications are due Saturday June 24, 2012 and should be mailed to Sheila Hart, 2751 Lower Six Mile Road, Nelson, BC, Canada, V1L 6L5 or e-mailed:sheilahart@shaw.ca. Interviews will be held on Saturday July 21 in Spokane, WA.  Applicants will be notified of the time of their interview and exact location one week in advance.  The chosen team leader will participate in the selection of the team members at a later date.

 

Team Leader qualifications:

The Team Leader must be an experienced Rotarian, especially in international service, well informed about the home countries (USA and Canada), host country and Rotary.

 

The team leader cannot be a current District Governor, an immediate Past District Governor or District Governor Elect, nor the spouse, lineal descendent or stepchild of the current District Governor, immediate Past District Governor, or District Governor Elect of District 5080.

 

The team leader must be willing to assume complete responsibility for the GSE team and act as the liaison between and the host clubs.

 

The team leader must be prepared to play an active role in the team members’ preparations to ensure they are well informed, motivated and cohesive as a team.

 

The team leader must be willing to serve as the primary contact between the team and Rotary International Travel Service agent and ensure the team has fulfilled all pre-departure obligations.
