She is a graduate of Spelman College and Clark Atlanta University and attribute her worldview to the education she received there. Spelman’s motto “A Choice to Change the World” is a guiding philosophy in her life.
Mrs. Gibson's 21 years at JCCAC has allowed her the opportunity to give back in a myriad of ways. She is a certified Volunteer Tax Preparer since 2005. We they operate a site at the agency where she volunteers in the evenings during tax season. After Hurricane Katrina, She helped coordinate the recovery effort as the Red Cross, National Guard, Marine Corp, and other entities set-up in and around their building. She returned to work 3 days after the storm, with no electricity, to ensure that their staff received paychecks and to account for the lives and property losses of their employees.
