Time is NOW for Raffle Ticket Sales

The Rotary Club of Metairie's annual big game raffle is one of the easiest ways for our club to raise funds for our projects, and the scale is larger than even Freret Street Festival.

 

it's simple enough.  Rotarians donate major prizes to the Rotary Club of Metairie - mostly tickets to Saints and Pelicans, LSU and Tulane games.  The grand prizes are paired with restaurant vouchers, hotel stays, and other goodies, making a win a whole evening out for the lucky ticket holder.  There's even a fishing trip for a party of four with guide out of Port Fourchon.  All in all, 40 big prizes are available.

 

Tickets are $20 each.  $10 will go to the Rotary Club of Metairie Scholarship Foundation, and $10 will go to our club's operating account.  If we sell 500 tickets, that's $5,000 our club will have to help perform our service projects.  To put that into perspective, this year's Freret Street Festival, our best year ever, raised $3,318.  Members should pick up their ticket packs at a meeting or contact Jason Sanchez to get tickets to sell - to their friends, family, workplace, church, on social media, etc.  Collect the ticket stub (with name and contact information neatly filled out) and the $20, to turn back in to the club.

 

Club member Yoko Toda, noting David Andrews' uncanny ability to select winning tickets for the Rotary Club of the Westbank's Jazz Fest raffle package, had him personally select 3 tickets for her.  "There's no guarantee, but if it's touched by David, it's probably going to win something," she said.

 

The grand drawing is on August 26, 2016 at noon at the Rotary Club of Metairie's regular meeting at Metairie Country Club.  Accordingly, all tickets and monies raised from tickets should be returned to the Rotary Club of New Orleans Riverbend no later than our regular meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 23.  Please DO NOT bring checks; bring cash, ticket stubs, and unsold tickets, back to the meeting on Aug. 23.

 

The Rotarian who can sell the most tickets for the club will be treated to a very nice bottle of wine as a prize!  We have a little more than a month and a half - so let's getting selling!
