Mission Green Project

 

 

Mission Green Project is one of the Rotary International activities assigned to each Rotary Club globally to plant trees generously in our communities to replace the depleted green cover in our environments, hence improving people's lives.

 

This Rotary year, Rotary Club of Kampala South and its partners embarked on planting trees at one of the several tree planting projects in Bubuule-Mpigi district which is located 40 km along Kampala Masaka highway. This was the first phase of tree planting this Rotary Year 2018/2019 and our implementing partners include:

 

 

On 16/11/2018, the tree planting activity participation had over 50 Rotarians and Rotaractors from Rotary Club of Kampala South, other Clubs and guest. We were joined by over 70 PKF Staff members, 15 Brothers of Christian Instruction from Kisubi and if course a few locals specially the Local Council officials. Tree planting started at exactly 9:00am to 12 noon and we planted over 2000 trees including 1500 eucalyptus and 500 Pine trees at over 4 acres of land. The remaining 1000 Pine and 100 mango trees were later planted at Kasasa Masaka and Kisubi Entebbe respectively by Brothers of Christian instruction. Later on tree planting activity was followed with lots of entertainment; dancing compositions and games by PKF staff members at Bubuule football play grounds. Participants were offered lunch and the mission green activity was crowned off with short speeches  and departure at leisure.
