--------------SOUTHERN STORM BULLETIN--------------
 A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE

One Rotarian made a comment: “The more I give, is the more I wish to give”. This did not make sense until we looked at how much she had given, yet she was making a new commitment to donate more.
“Times are hard Yes I agree!” but in its times like these; we rise above as Rotarians and support the solutions to the never ending and yet rising needs of our people and the world at large; by standing with our foundation through donations of $10- $50, $60-$100, $100- $500, $1000 that eventually aid the birth, growth and success of our service projects.

OUR LAST MEETING
Tales of Kampala South

The art and power of storytelling to communicate Rotary values and norms could be felt on Monday as the different presidents including PP Jenny, Anthony, Ebert, Michael and Paul narrated their experiences over the years in Rotary.   The wealth of knowledge that was passed on to the new entrants of the Rotary norms that have now become a culture to many were shared in a light hearted manner through storytelling.

THE CHANGING FACE OF E-COMMERCE
E-commerce has been on the rise in Uganda in the recent years and this is evidenced by many companies coming on the market such as Jumia, SafeBoda, Uber and so many others. This is evidence that people use technology to get convenience. The Rotaract club of Kampala South recently hosted Mr. Ron Kawamara the CEO of Jumia Uganda and has been working with the company since inception to talk about the changing face of E-commerce in the recent years.

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU DID SOMETHING FOR THE FIRST TIME??
Back in the day before COVID-19 was known to the world, I made a new year’s resolution
to travel this beautiful country more. I would start with the 11 national parks,
go to the game reserves, and immerse myself in places nature kissed and beautiful.

I populated my calendar. Leave days were set aside and relief team members notified.
The year was going to be full of sunny outdoors. Rain was welcome. Dewy mornings too. As were dreamy evenings with fire-coloured skies.

THE CAT DAD
  1.  Ft, for how long have you had a cat and can we know more about him/her?
  • I have had Tuxie for four years. I picked him from the Uganda Society for Protection and Care of Animals (USPCA) in July 2017. I had lost my previous cat to a bladder infection, and USPCA – where the surgery on previous cat had been conducted – gave me Tuxie as a ‘replacement’ cat.
