--------------SOUTHERN STORM BULLETIN--------------
PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
What a pleasure it is to confirm that I have been able to keep my head above the water for a full month since I took the helm of this ‘Southern Ship’! No one prepares you for this kind of stellar role. To lead a Club like this is simply and awesome experience. The moments vary from hair raising to deep down depressing. From fun and exhilarating laughter to outright melancholy. But this is what defines Kampala South.

WHY WE SHOULD CARE ABOUT MOTHER NATURE.

In a scene from one of my all-time favorite movies - The Italian Job, Skinny Pete (funny how he is called skinny yet he is a 7ft Giant in the movie) said, “If there's one thing I know, it's never to mess with mother nature, mother in-laws, and, Ukrainians.” Having watched the movie over 10 years ago and laughed at that dialogue, that quote never left my mind.

KNOW YOUR MEMBERS

BICUNG BENJAMIN

1. What do you enjoy the most about Rotary and your club in particular?
I enjoy the people. Rotary is full of fun people with big hearts. I felt at home right from day one. It’s as though I had been part of Kampala South for years. I like how passionate the people in my club are about the projects and the different Rotary projects as a whole.

2. How do you spend your leisure time outside of your Rotary activities? Examples?
I lead a simple life. If I’m not at home reading or catching up on a good TV Show/Movie, I enjoy spending time with my friends. It’s always a fresh breath of air hanging out with them.

3. If you could snap your fingers and instantly make the world better, what would you do?
Ensure everyone has access to quality education. Nothing gives you a real chance at a better life than quality education.

4. What three words would your friends use to describe you?
Haha; most have said limiting it to 3 is a real assignment. But what stood out most are Ambitious, Introspective, and Brilliant.

5. Do you have any message you would like to give to Rotary/members/ readers?
God’s gift to you is more talent and ability than you will ever use. Your gift to God is to develop as much of it as you can. Be all that you can for God and all of humanity.

6. What's your favourite sport to watch and which team do you root for?
That would be soccer & Liverpool FC is the team. I however don’t watch a lot of sports.

7. What's the weirdest nickname someone has for you and what's the story behind?
Cung Lee, which is a derivative of Bicung, which has a likeness to a Chinese name.

8. What is the best advice you were given? Who was it from?
It was from my dad. There’s a time I was wishing I could go back in time and change certain decisions I made. He said, “Don’t live your life backwards. Let your new motto be <<onwards and upwards>>.”

9. What is that one goal you hope to achieve in your life time?
I would like to become a Public Speaker one day.

10. What makes you laugh no matter what?
My nieces. The twins are 6 years old and their sister is 4. They have the funniest stories. How they perceive the world is entirely comical.

11. What two pet peeves do you have?
Passive Aggressive comments, and reducing the volume of someone’s car radio when I’ve been given a lift.

12. What three things would you take with you to a deserted Island?
A box of matches, a Knife and a tent.
