This year the award goes to Hadji Damba, the founder of Food Theatre Siyomba which distributes free food in hospitals. His journey is one who rose from being a cleaner to a Chef.

He possess a background in Islamic and computer studies obtained ........
 
....from Pakistan where he also developed his culinary skills. He is passionate about his country and service, his selflessness has moved Hajji Mohamed Damba to offer food to the vulnerable in hospitals. In 1999 he moved to the UK where He worked as a Chef with one of the food companies that served the NHS (between 1999 and 2005). In 2005 he moved back home  and went back into mechanical engineering where he did some work at Entebbe airport.
 
An idea he had forever nursed but been busy and unable to implement was reawakened with the onset of Covid, that is his cooking and how he could use it for greater good.
 
 
 
A voluntary service he has since carried out from March with the help of his family. Once a week, every Tuesday morning his home is busier than a beehive ,from the little boys in his house, his entire family is involved in the cooking, distribution, cleaning whilst  he carries out this service, he drives his Ambulance to hospital and 300 patients are fed per visit. The variety of the dishes he provides caters for the needs of various patients including pregnant women. His target has been the health centres.
 
He is looking for and open to partnerships, together we can. So far, he has covered the Entebbe grade B hospital, Kawempe, Nabweru, Wakiso health centre III. He attributes his success to team work. His mission is to serve Ugandans in Hospitals, quality healthy food for free
