PDG Stephen Mwanje:
To me AK stood for fun and friendship. He meant well for everyone and was always a source of positive energy. AK loved people genuinely and he'd never talk ill about anyone. AK was a super guy and would've been an excellent DG. AK never had time for negativism and had humour in every situation. Rest in Peace my brother Aggrey 🙏
Andrew Banturaki, RC Kitante:
Aggrey was my first cousin. Here to relive the fantastic memories of such an icon.
Sam Farouk Kajubi:
Glad to have been friend to Rotary. The community of Lugo misses him greatly. In global grant we implemented at the village, he supplied the cows to the community with supplies that were not on the budget. He became a name to the community. RIP Aggrey
DG Rosetti Nabbumba D9211:
He was a jolly good fellow, a Christian at heart, a lover of humans, a born leader, a great family man. Ever ready to execute leadership tasks. A Rotaractor by blood. We shall miss you DGND Aggrey. But your legacy remains with your wife and children. They must remain in the Rotary family and we should keep them close, invite them to events. Rest peacefully Governor Aggrey.

Jojo Kabyesiza:
I'm glad to have been at Aggrey's Homecoming at Rotaract Kampala City. We appreciated him in person and he got a token from the club. He was his usual happy self - cracking jokes and dancing. He shared his vision and dreams as DGND and I hope we can have a sustainable project around these ideas that we can implement and commemorate every year. Hope Rotary Kampala South & the Rotaract clubs of South + Kampala City can spearhead this for the rest of us to jump on board & support.
Lydia Bujara:
It’s all too common in the workplace that we hear stories of nightmare bosses. But l was fortunate that l did not have that story about Aggrey for the 14 years l worked with him. My first encounter with Aggrey was at a Rotaract fellowship. I was a guest and l happened to sit next to him. Long story short, l was being interviewed by him and his partners a few days later! His approach as a coach guided me and patiently taught me the things l needed to learn. And when l did something great, he always was quick to applaud me. Aggrey allowed me to grow and develop under his wings. He “pushed” me to be the best l could be. They say we are closest to the people we work with, Aggrey was my friend. When l went through my cancer ordeal, Aggrey held my hand and supported me through it - he told me “Bona, go get well, your job will still be here for you, just make sure you come back alive!” He always said; “Ebya boss, bikooma mu office!” Aggrey, you may be gone before us too soon, but your memories will remain in our hearts.
PHYLLIS KOBUKINDO KWESIGA:
Sincerely Aggrey we have missed your year as DG. We were so ready! I cannot even begin to share, most especially as you have been our PIME chair for the incoming Rotary Year. I still have your last message reminding me about our trip to Naivasha to sign off our conference venue. Trip was due and you kept on checking if I was ready. Mbwenu Aggrey, you had promised me some agreements and we were to meet to plan for your year as DG, in your diligence and forward planning you had even already appointed me as your DES to be. Mbwenu Aggrey, personally I am yet to believe this occurrence. Why leave at the prime of your life when you were reaping all you had sown? Prayers upon prayers. I've also remembered the last PIME meeting you introduced us to this place in Naguru where you said Kla South had a seating room; great place, great wine. I don’t think I will go there in some time. Oh yes, at the last DCA you also laughing introduced me to your son as his mother-in-law to be.
Tusu 1:
Aggrey, outrageous in every way, cheeky, humorous, simple, down to earth. A good man. A great Rotarian.
Godfrey Kaaya - RC Kla Early Bird:
AK you were a Rotarian in and out. We thank God for the time he gave you to us. It was a very fruitful time we spent with you. May your soul rest in peace.
Ronald Kawaddwa:
A great Rotarian who admired everything about Rotary. He had found a life, a living and lifestyle in serving humanity. Always willing to help regardless of the magnitude of the issue
Fredrick Tumusiime:
The Friday Lazy Lunch crew will miss AK. That's probably gone for good. It's not the quantity, but quality of years. AK lived his well. Rest well.
Robert Kisubi - Maisha:
I didn't know Aggrey for a long time but what a class act.
Matere Scovia - RC Kla South:
AK was genuine, loved life and was life itself, inquisitive, loved good food, valued friendship and his family. He was a Christian, helper, very intelligent, a passionate father and farmer. He was an accountant, serious fun and humorous. An explorer and lastly result-oriented. Rest In Peace AK 🙏🏽
Rachael Ddungu - Lubowa Sunrise:
We will all miss Aggrey as a mentor and a person who wishes everybody well. We enjoyed farming, dairy and poultry because of him. Rest in Peace Aggrey.
Nkinzi:
East Enders say, keep on walking AK. We won't let you down.
Innocent AGABA:
A dark cloud looms over the Rotary fraternity & many other networks to which Aggrey was attached. AK, I am still struggling to come to terms with the shock, the pain is too deep like a fresh wound. My friend, mentor, OB, the life of whatever party, you were simply one of a kind no wonder you slipped away mysteriously. We find comfort in knowing that death only ends a life but not a relationship. The love, mentorship and great memories we shared will last forever Live on my big brother AK🙏🏾
Innocent M. Ndawula:
The less said, the better about A.K (Aggrey Kankunda). The colossus that Aggrey was in Rotary deserves as many parting shots as possibly we can give him as Southerners. A.K impacted on each and every one of us. Let’s make AK smile forever by keeping his legacy alive.
Dr. Mayanja Maureen:
My recent memory of Aggrey was his program on Desert Island Discs - the good words for Rotary/Rotaract and of course the memorable music. RIP Aggrey- you went too soon!
Godfrey Kayitarama, RC Makindye:
My first meeting with Aggrey was because people said we resemble and that was in 2013. When we met at Kla North, we immediately connected. He would refer to me either as his little brother or son! When he invited me to his home, he introduced me to his family. It was a meeting for Governors and when he introduced me, he told them I was not a Governor but he told them to guess why I was invited. Up to now people say they can't believe we are not related. Rest well my twin brother Aggrey
Magaba:
Fare-thee Aggrey. You introduced me to farming, guided me every time I came to you with questions. I am a member of the Lusuku WhatsApp forum all because of you and the benefits have been immense. Till we meet again, RIP!
Michael Bwisho:
Aggrey will forever be missed. As the president Rotaract Club of Kla City, I was struggling to secure a venue for our club retreat and without hesitation he offered his farm house in Mityana. We not only had good club deliberations but came back with knowledge on farming, the history of the place, well fed and a great bond. The famous Ntanda resolutions shaped the destiny of our club and he personally held me accountable for their implementation. That was Aggrey; passionate, visionary and disciplined. May he rest in power!
James Mukasa Sebugenyi:
Rest In Peace our brother. Vividly remember his wedding at Lohana Academy and our ant-work style we used to serve the guests. To Edith and the kids; our friend Aggrey United us in very many ways. RIP!
Vicky Nabisenke:
Aggrey was an experience. He joked, laughed, loved. He lived. My lasting memory of him is his wide toothy smile, telling a joke here, teasing someone there. Even when he guided, corrected or reprimanded, he did it with a smile. Words like 'Iwe, you ka girl' will always remind me of him. We shall surely miss him. Rest in God's warm embrace AK🙏🏽
Annet Kyoheirwe – Vancouver, Canada:
I am forever grateful to God for bringing you into my life. You had mercy/kindness on me. You were compassionate, friendly, kind, a leader, investor, jolly good fellow, mentor, destiny helper. Endless memories of you remain so dear in my heart forever. ❤ ❤🙏🙏 God have mercy on your soul and shine on your beloved widow Edith, orphans, loved ones and Rotary Family the world over and friends in Jesus Christ name. RIP 😭😭😭MY dear Rotarian Aggrey Kankunda🙏🙏 Ann Kyoheirwe, Vancouver, Canada
Antony Mwandha:
I joined Rotary in 2001 at a time when Aggrey was president. It is one of those times when I questioned the one term limit, the man was so full of energy. A few years later I was called upon to serve as President, it was a surprising move because there were two people ahead of me in the queue. Suddenly I was catapulted to leadership at a time when the sitting president Parity Twinomujuni had just changed classification and I was sit-in President for six months of Parity’s year. Later in 2009, when I became President, we clicked with Aggrey. He always called on me to say “You have done well”. To me, it was most gratifying to be recognised by him. It was the beginning of great relationship that we enjoyed till the end. May the good memories endure!
Hilda Karashani:
Rest in peace AK Major Donor. Edith, the kids and the larger family, let's raise the flag up by emulating the examples taught to us.
Steven Munabi:
I always teased Aggrey that he never made it to the presidency of Rotaract Kampala City and he always said he had become a president of a rotary club. When he became DGND, I sent him a private message to congratulate him and promised to support him. He was a great man and touched everyone in a special way. May God grant him eternal rest!
