Every week we bring you more about our club members. This week we have the lovely Lillian Iculet. Come lets tour the world of the gorgeous…
ET: WHO IS ROTARIAN Lillian?
LI: I was inducted to rotary in August 2011 (during IPP Jackie Nansubuga's reign), after visiting for almost 2 years ( from PP Anthony Mwanda's reign, through to Donnan's till Jackie's). I was invited by Esther Mwambu and further encouraged by Patrick Lassu. My classification is HR and Coaching Services.
ET: OUTSIDE ROTARY?LI: I didn't get to choose my family....God gave me great people; I get to choose my friends and they make me a great person! Around them, I am 'ad lib' - unscripted ; they allow me to be totally me]
ET: FUN & GAMES
LI: Executive/professional solution-focus Coaching, events project/management, community/voluntary service, collaborations/professional associations & building professional networks, research. Like cooking/catering, fashion and interior designing; Knowledge sharing, management consulting & reading especially self-help or DIY books.
ET: DOWN TO BUSINESS
LI: Inspired by the aspect of voluntarily and selflessly offering one's professional services to the world community, and seeing the impact it has on these communities in need - no greater joy. I remain in rotary for its dynamism - every month has a special focus, and every year has a different theme. so service above self has a renewing of one's pledge continuously.]
ET: WHAT IS YOUR HIGHER CALLING?
LI: to be a budding 'coachultant', and all other professional success will be added unto me]
ET: A WORD TO THE WISE
LI: “Do what you do so well that when other people see what it is that you do, they will want to see you do it again…..and they will bring others with them to show them what it is that you do.”
ET: BOOKWORM
LI:The 80/20 Individual - how to build on the 20% of what I do best (by Richard Coch); Positively Speaking: Art of constructive conversations with a Solution-focus (By Paul Z JAckson and Jenine Waldman). Why? Solution talk begets solutions and a host of other solution-focus literature. Another great book is Negotiation: 'You may want to make the first offer' (by Leigh l Simpson); why, it’s important to know you BATNA and ZOPA and when to use it .......]
ET: CRAZY BIN
LI: this file is classified! as a sneak pick, I tend to be a 'risk embracer']
ET: LAST WORD
LI:little is much when your whole heart is in it...
