The national statistics on school drop out is quite alarming. The girl child is unfortunately most vulnerable to dropping out of school, for so many unfortunate, yet preventable factors.
Ranging from child marriages, family gender discrimination, stigma created by biological factors like menstruation and a host of other factors have all contributed to early school dropout for the girl child. Fortunately, there are as many possible solutions as there are challenges in minimizing the effects.
On Monday, 27th August, 2018, we shall be honored to host the leading girl-child advocate, Mrs. Hope Nankunda Mwijuka to highlight the impact these challenges have had on the girl child, as well as what needs to be done to avert the effects.
