My dear friends and fellow Rotarians,

The curtain falls…and the act is over!

Tomorrow (June 30, 2012) marks the end of my marathon tenure as your District Governor and I would like to bid you goodbye from my office…Adios!
I would like to thank you all Rotarians of the District 9200 for working with me to deliver what will remain in the annals of history as one of the greatest years of Rotary in terms of growth (19 strong new clubs and four brought back from termination status); in terms of the support to The Rotary Foundation (now standing at $ US 454,000 and still counting…); the birth of numerous Rotaract and Interact clubs and more RCC’s; and the phenomenal projects that are a hallmark of our District! The focus on fellowship and fun while doing Rotary service has seen Rotarians come together as a Rotary family committed to thinking, saying and doing the right things together.

Thank you for heeding President Kalyan’s call to Reach Within to Embrace Humanity. You truly reached within yourselves for the good of all!

I would like to apologize where I or my leadership team fell short of expectation; if such be the case- we gave it our very best. All credit goes to the team and all errors and omission I will happily bear.

As I seek to take my sit as a Past District Governor soon, I am deeply inspired by the strides we have made towards the achievement of our strategic plans and I promise you all that I will always be there for you. You only need to ask.

As the curtain rises tomorrow night to usher in the next act, let us re-commit ourselves to even greater Rotary dreams and ideals as we pursue our motto of Serve above Self with our guiding theme next year-Peace Though Service.

Asanteni sana! Thank you.

Yours in Rotary,

Eric Kimani
