16th-19th September were busy days at the Rotary club of Kampala South, as members, guests and friends of the club went on a long journey to Kabale. They were hosted at Hawk's eye lodge, owned by Rotarian Parity Twinomujuni who doubles as a member and Past President of the club. On 16th September, Up to 1700 trees ( 1500 Pacula/Pine and 200 Avocado) were planted in Kitoma, Rwanyena on 4 acres donated by Kitoma Church.
500 more pacula/pine trees were planted on 17th September, 2021 at Bufuka church and overseeing the beautiful views of Lake Bunyonyi.

The team led by Rtn. Pamela Nakityo, who is in charge of Rotary Community Corps (RCCs) met with the members of Nyaconga RCC and discussed a number of issues around membership, financial literacy and running of impactful income generating projects in their community.

This was then followed by an engagement with over 15 local health workers including midwives, nurses, clinical officers, counsellors, VHTs, peer educators and health inspectors at Kamuganguzi Health Centre III. This is part of the ongoing process of the club training and building capacity amongst local health workers in a bid to empower them to conduct community medical outreach.

A visit to the Mushroom training and resource centre was even more exciting as the members were treated to a Mushroom soup tasting session. The visit was meant to offer an understanding of the operations at the centre but also conduct a needs assessment process for the proposed button mushroom growing project in partnership with the centre.

The club members spent some time at Grace Villa Kabale, which is a home to vulnerable girls. It was a splendid day for both parties as the girls entertained their guests through traditional songs and dances. The club members were welcomed by Rev. Grace Ndyabahika on behalf of the board and management of the home.
A tree was planted to mark the start of this partnership which will see more visits and joint projects being implemented.
