Mumbwa Mukalakasa at RC Mengo
This afternoon I visited the Rotary Club of Mengo. Even though I am no longer their AG, I still hold the club dear and want to assure them of my continued association and support. The club hosted Mr. James Kisale who is the president of Institute of National Transformation and also Assistant Commissioner – Enforcement – Customs & Excise Dept of URA.
He made a presentation about a food supplement called Ambrotose Powder made by Mannatech.[1]
We were told of the benefits of the supplement which among others include Fucose & Mannose which most of the food we eat lack. These coupled with Glucose & Galactose is what makes the supplement unique and helpful to the human body.
Ambrotose powder helps to promote cellular communication and support the immune system. If you need to improve your concentration, energy, sleep better, enhance athletic performance, or just improve your sense of well being, then you need to take the supplement. The Glyconutirients contained in the Ambrotose powder also help improve optimal health, immune system function, proper gland and organ function, as well as proper system function, such as the cardiovascular and endocrine systems.
The supplement has no known side effects and is quoted as being completely non-toxic although it may reduce the side effects of treatments such as chemo and radiation and prescription drugs. In extreme but rare cases, Doctors have argued that excessive amounts of carbohydrates found in Ambrotose may cause intestinal cramping and diarrhea in people susceptible to digestive complications.
Ambrotose is not a pharmaceutical; that is, it is not a drug because no amount of it can kill you. Ambrotose is therefore called a nutraceutical. It’s no wonder PAG James Kalibbala prefers to call it Mumbwa Mukalakasa!!
PAG Peters Musoke had everyone in stitches when during his vote of thanks, he lamented saying he would find it difficult to tell his grand-mother in Luganda the name of the company making the food supplement!
[1] A research based nutritional company incorporated in USA. Mannatech is soon opening a centre in Uganda which will be the first in Africa outside South Africa. This will thus not only open opportunities for Ugandans to easily access this nutritional supplement but also multi-level marketing business ventures.
