Launching the South Independence Cruise
October 9th 2012 was celebrated in style by the Rotary Club of Kampala South. The club launched the South Independence Cruise that was attended by 150 Rotarians, Rotaractors, friends and family of Rotary.
The cruise, the first ever in the history of Rotary events was a fundraising initiative of the club and raised Ushs 5,540,000 towards the club projects. The cruise is planned to be held annually on Independence day and will give the Rotary club of Kampala South additional mileage in its Public Relations Drive and support to its projects.
There was lots of fun, fellowship, dancing and barbeque as MV Amani – the boat - cruised the Lake Victoria for 3 hours. While afloat, one of our own PP/AG Dorcus Tusubira of RC of Kampala Sunrise, celebrated her birthday in style.
On behalf of the Rotary Club of Kampala South, we thank you all who joined us in our inaugural annual fundraising drive as we Sailed-In-Service. The inaugural chapter was a great success and plans are under way to make a bigger impact on Thursday October 9, 2014.
