FRANK FAYO NYAKAHUMA
CLASSIFICATION: Marketing and Communications Services
Frank has been in the club for 10 months, so this week, we did an up close and personal interview with him and here is what he shared with us;

1. What do you enjoy the most about Rotary and your club in particular?
Very uplifting, fun and dedicated to service
2. If you could snap your fingers and instantly make the world better, what would you do?
I would snap a finger and there is a book library and a children’s book/literacy club in every village around the world.

3. How do you spend your leisure time outside of your Rotary activities? Examples?
I love being by the waterside, so every opportunity I get, I go to the shores. Other times, watching football.

4. What three words would your friends use to describe you?
They would say; Positive Energy, Focused, Proud (which I still find weird in a way)

5. What's your favourite sport to watch and which team do you root for?
I love Soccer and my team is Arsenal FC, just like everyone else who loves beautiful things. #COYGs

6. What's the weirdest nickname someone has for you and what's the story behind?
The name is Kadogo – I had an uncle who was a child soldier in the liberation war and I was born when the current government had just taken power. So he nicknamed me Kadogo. He was also my dad’s youngest brother and he insisted they name me Frank because he was also called Frank. Sadly he passed and left me with all his uniforms, and pleaded with me to become a soldier when I grow up, although I haven’t yet joined the army.

7. What is the best advice you were given? Who was it from?
“You have now become a man.” – My Father. This was when I was leaving home (quite early, at 17). He never explained anything after that. But I have over the years noticed that being a man meant, you had to sweat for the drinking water you will take, and that has shaped my ambitions ever since.

8. What is that one goal you hope to achieve in your life time?
Keep a few good friends.

9. What makes you laugh no matter what?
I love being around positive people, their energy rubs off of me easily, I am always happy at those moments. And laughing is one of my weaknesses, I do it a lot.

10. What two pet peeves do you have?
People who think they are either right or you are wrong and don’t listen to the other part of the opinion, that’s annoying.

11. What three things would you take with you to a deserted Island?
Bible, Music (Kafeero, GoodLyfe, Maddox, 2Pac, Timi Dakolo), A lighter/Matchbox

12. Do you have any message you would like to give to Rotary/members/ readers?
As a person that has always avoided clubs and associations, I was blown away by how dedicated people were to making society a better place, when I first interacted with rotary club members, especially in my home club RC Kampala South. My wish is that we multiply the energy and never stop.
