IUEA PROVISIONAL ROTARACT CLUB
We are the Charter Members of the Provisional Rotaract club of International University of East Africa. With the help of Kampala South Rotary Club through President Jane Bitek Langoya, who worked tirelessly together with Mr.Parick Lassu to ensure that this club is established in the university: indeed it happened.
I, Jurugo Innocent, as the Charter President of the club, dearly appreciate President JANE for this remarkable service towards the future of these young leaders. The club started its first fellowship on Wednesday 10th /10th /2012. Being the child of Kampala South Rotary, we are strongly affiliated to their veterans (past presidents) and the members as well who regularly visit us during fellowship. This made me as the Charter President elect to come out with “Together to serve the communities” as the theme of the IUEA Rotaractclub.
This club is not only encouraging students to have fun but also emphasizes community base projects. We expected to start our first project in early January 2013It was postponed to January due to time table of this semester ( 2012) which has been so tight.
“Service above Self” as the motto of the club, exemplifies the Humanitarian spirit of the 1.2 million Rotarians worldwide. Our Community Service Projects efforts shall be directed towards the following areas of focus:
v Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
v Disease prevention and treatment
v Water and sanitation
v Maternal and child health
v Basic education and literacy
v Economic and community development
The club is managed by a team of eight (8) dedicated cabinet members of good character.
