Oh what a wonderful presentation!
Best fellowship ever!
I am heading to my bank tomorrow to seek redress!
Banking will never be the same again!
These were but a few of the comments made after the presentation by Mr Philip Wabulya on Financial Consumer Protection ‘Know Your Rights’. The audience of Rotarians, Rotaractors and guests were in awe at the information that was shared. It revealed that even while the audience is considered ‘crème de la crème’, they exhibited a gross ignorance of their rights as consumers of financial products.
The presentation was delivered in style and the eager faces could tell it all. Philip spoke passionately as he also shared his experiences as a seasoned banker. In a nut shell, the Financial Consumer Protection Guidelines were developed by BOU to;
- Raise awareness of consumers so that they understand their rights.
- Ensure that supervised financial institutions have the knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of the Financial Consumer Protection Guidelines.
- Strengthen BOU’s supervisory procedures to ensure compliance

Every member of the audience left the hall way after 7.15pm as they demanded that all questions raised be ably answered.
The fun doesn’t stop at RC of Kampala South. See you next week as we host the famous Peter Kimbowa taking us through Financial Awareness in a day to day life.
