Rotary Club of Marina City bans together to donate oxygen concentrators

Marina City Rotarians have a special relationship with the Rotary Club of Greater Yangon. Since 2019, RCMC has supported the Irrawaddy Delta through the Swimming Doctors Project to provide medical care for villagers along the river.

Sandar Htun , a newly transferee fellowship in RCMC from rotary club of Yangon jumped in action in July when she was devastated by the the surge in Covid cases in Myanmar that stared in June.

Sandar explained, “by July when the third Covid wave hit Myanmar our citizens had nowhere to turn. There were shortages of medical professionals, medicine, beds and oxygen in hospitals and quarantine centers. Ivan Tam, President of the Rotary Club of Greater Yangon contacted me with an urgent appeal. To help, I reached out to my club members to raise funds.”

As of 9 September, RCMC collected SGD6400 for oxygen concentrators and other medical and PPE supplies. The oxygen concentrators and medical supplies will be donated to
