Marius Tacu
Public Service in Romania

Florin Marius Tacu was accredited as Romania’s Ambassador to the Republic of Singapore by the Romanian President, H.E. Klaus-Werner Iohannis, in April 2017.

 

Amb. Tacu has a more than 18 years’ career in Romania’s public service.

 

The last position held before being accredited as Romania’s Ambassador in the Republic of Singapore, was that of State Secretary with Prime Minister’s Office. Amb. Tacu began to exercise this position in December 2015, and between September 2016 and January 2017, he was the Acting Secretary General of the Government of Romania.

 

Amb. Tacu is a career magistrate with the rank of a Court of Appeal Judge. Last time he exercised this position was between July and December 2015.

 

From April 2010 to July 2015, he was Romania’s Consul General in Shanghai, PR China, and from May 2014 until the end of his posting, he was also the Dean of the Consular Corps in Shanghai.

 

Before starting his tenure in Shanghai as Consul General, Amb. Tacu was working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the Inspector General of Foreign Affairs, exercising this position since February 2008. Prior to that, he was the Deputy Inspector General (from November 2006) and Inspector (from July 2005).

 

Other prior positions held by Amb. Tacu are judge at various local, county and appeal courts in Romania, and Deputy Director of Litigation Department of the Ministry of Justice.
