What would you give to make sure a deserving student gets the chance to go to college and improve their circumstances?  How good would you feel to know that children who get their one good meal at school each day will also eat a balanced meal when school is not in session?  What is the value of providing dictionaries to each third grade student?

The Rotary Club of Rancho Cordova established the Rancho Cordova Rotary Charitable Foundation, a non-profit organization, in order to appropriately and judiciously invest in Rancho Cordova's youth, families, and seniors.  Our members are business leaders, community leaders, and government leaders.  Our members live or work in Rancho Cordova and know what is needed and where it is needed most.

Programs for youth include:
  • Scholarships - recognizing higher education can take many forms, the scholarship criteria is a mixture of scholastic, community service, and demonstrated vocational skills.
  • Interact - a Rotary Club at the high school level focused on community service and leadership development, supported by the Rotary Club of Rancho Cordova and Cordova High School.
  • RYLA - Rotary Youth Leadership Assembly where high school students participate in a week-long fellowship and leadership program of events.
  • Dictionary Project - providing each 3rd grade student in the public school system in Rancho Cordova with their own hard bound, fully illustrated dictionary.  Many English second-language families benefit from these dictionaries as well as the students receiving them.
Programs for families and seniors include:
  • Cordova Community Food Locker Holiday Food Baskets - in concert with local school nurses and coinciding with the holiday school break when children do not have access to school meal programs, the Rancho Cordova Rotary Charitable Foundation helps facilitate food drives throughout the community, ensuring families receive enough food to last through the holidays and provide a special holiday meal.
  • Cordova Community Food Locker Baby Food Program - the Foundation provides thousands of cans of baby food each year to assist in filling the Food Locker's ongoing need.
  • Rotarians at Work - each spring a community service project is chosen in the Rancho Cordova area with the focus on improving facilities at schools, parks, senior facilities, or individual homes in need.  Past projects have included Mills Middle School Garden, Mather Rotary Park, Casa Coloma Senior Living Center, Hagan Park Petting Zoo, and many more.

Through contributions from people just like you, the Rancho Cordova Rotary Charitable Foundation is able to give a helping hand and a hopeful future to the youth, families, and seniors of Rancho Cordova.  If you would like to make a donation to support this effort, please mail your tax-deductible donation to Rancho Cordova Rotary Charitable Foundation, PO Box 215, Rancho Cordova, CA 95741.
