Named in honor of Effie Yeaw, an educator and passionate conservationist, the center reflects her enduring commitment to curiosity, learning, and stewardship of the natural world. For generations, the Nature Center has served as a place where people of all ages can connect with nature, deepen their understanding of the environment, and discover the rich ecosystems of the American River Parkway. Through educational programs, exhibits, and immersive experiences, we inspire our community to appreciate, protect, and care for the natural spaces that sustain us. As the Interpretive Center of the American River Parkway, we are proud to serve as a gateway to one of the region’s most treasured natural resources—helping visitors explore, learn from, and preserve this remarkable landscape for future generations. |
