Charter school Contributions and new Challenges

John Adams Academy operates Northern California's only tuition-free, TK-12 classical leadership education charter schools.  John Adams Academy has three locations: El Dorado Hills, Lincoln, and Roseville.  John Adams Academy is preparing future leaders and statesmen through principle-based education centered in classics and great mentors.  Scholars enjoy a classical liberal arts curriculum encompassing history, English, math, visual and performing arts, laboratory science, foreign language, physical education, and college preparatory electives all provided.

A California State Legislative committee narrowly passed two bills this week that will more strictly regulate charter schools, including giving local school districts greater leeway to deny charter applications.  Never before have charter schools been under such pressure to survive, due to the fact they are doing such a good job and making conventional public education look bad.

Our speaker Carlos Yniquez is a regular guest lecturer for any faith-based groups and leadership organizations He is a passionate mentor with a proven record of
accomplishment, assisting young men and women to achieve their educational and character development goals.

Understanding Traffic Court

Our speaker Judge David Bills presents an informative and important (sometimes humorous) explaination on how to properly handle a traffic summons.   Many of us are aware of some of these court requirements and processes, but our kids and grandkids who are just beginning the driving experience need to know this information to stay out of trouble with the law.

David has been a Judicial Officer since 2005, serving in the Superior Court of California, County of Placer (2005-2013) and a Volunteer Temporary Judge (2013-Present)

This program is a educational experience for those who don't undestand local traffic courts.   Good opportunity to bring a new driver in your family to a good Rotary meeting.

David received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University Long Beach (1969) and Juris Doctor Degree from California Western University School of Law (1972).   He was a Trial Attorney (1973-2004) before becomng a Judicial Officer.
