Hi everyone,

I hope you're all having a great week!

This Tuesday, we're taking Old Mission Rotary on the road for a special field trip to the beautiful Wylde Horses Ranch in Valley Center!

Some of you may remember Rachael Martin, founder of Wylde Horses, who visited our club earlier this year. Now, she's inviting us to experience the ranch firsthand!

Wylde Horses provides equine-assisted programs that help individuals build confidence, develop skills, and improve their well-being through interactions with horses.

We're looking forward to a fun and interactive experience at this beautiful ranch, where we'll learn more about their work, enjoy some hands-on activities, and spend time together outside our usual meeting setting.

It's also a wonderful opportunity to see the impact of an organization supported by our Art Pratt Foundation.

CLUB FUNDRAISER Committee Meeting - Monday Oct. 26 - Everyone is Invited!

Hello Old Mission Rotary Club Members!

Please join me on our first committee planning call next Monday, October 26 at 6:00pm, via Google Meet.

It's time to start planning this year's club fundraiser. We are going to do something new and different this year including who we invite to help coordinate the event. All club members, their spouses, and children are invited to be part of this year's Club Fundraising Committee. Also, anyone from Thousand Smiles who would also like to participate, is welcome as well.

I have been looking at locations and hope for us all to make a decision by early November. If between now and next Monday you have a wonderful idea for a venue, please email me. Think creatively and we will come up with a wonderful location.

Please RSVP via this email and I will send a Google Meeting Invitation.

I am looking forward to creating a wonderful event with everyone.

Thank you for helping!

See you soon.

Susan

District 5340 Oktoberfest

Matt Risi represented Old Mission Rotary at the District 5340 Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 17th. The event raised funds for district youth programs.

Matt made a fool of himself in the best dressed and yodeling competitions but did not win.

Ana Fernandez of Club Rotario di Tijuana visits Old Mission Rotary

At our club meeting on October 13th, Ana Fernandez of Club Rotario de Tijuana visited Old Mission Rotary. Ana is a great friend of our club and is a frequent visitor.

Club Rotario de Tijuana is part of District 4100 and is very active in both local and international service projects.

Ana invited our members to attend their Three Kings Celebration (Dia de Reyes) on Saturday, January 16th as a fund raiser to support children with special needs including cancer and autism across the region. The event will take place at the El Trompo Museum is Tijuana.

The Old Mission Rotary Board of Directors had already approved a $500 grant for the event from the Old Mission Rotary Foundation.

Thank You!  We exceeded our Goal of $100 per member for the Rotary Foundation Annual Fund

Thank You, to everyone who stepped up and made a donation before year's end. We exceeded our goal with a final total of $4,147.

The Click Me! link below will take you to the Rotary Donation page to make the coming years donation.

Thousand Smiles pledges

Thank you to everyone who made a pledge to support Thousand Smiles this year. We have received many of the donations already. There is still time to send in your pledge either via check or online on the Thousand Smiles website.

We are looking forward to receiving the outstanding pledges if possible within the next two weeks and adding to the total through the Art Pratt Foundation.

Old Mission Rotary Club Diamond Jubilee History

This history of the past 75 years of our Club is dedicated to all of our past presidents.  Take a moment to click on the image and read our history.

Remember the Bwana of Old Mission, Mike Rogers is our longest tenured member.  He joined our club in 1962.  That is remarkable.

Read his section on our past presidents in the beginning of the history.  Dave Blum who kept the Tom Baumann Old Mission Rotary History Book is included.  Win Bishop's photo albums are included.  Many parts of Matt Risi's past newsletters are included.

In the "About our Club" section of our website are all the individual sections of the History.  You can download and save them for yourselves.

Enjoy.
