Times Change. Life develops new rhythms.  But some things remain the same.  There are always people in need.  There are always people willing and able to serve others.

At Old Mission Rotary we are women, men, business professionals, doctors, lawyers, young, and young at heart, and we are all passionate about service.  Our focus is summed up in the Rotary motto, Service Above Self.

Old Mission Rotary members do more than just write checks - although we do that, too.  We actively participate in a wide range of hands-on projects in the San Diego region and beyond, helping to make our community and our world a better place.

Old Mission Rotary enables members to enjoy fun and camaraderie with fellow businesspeople and professionals while we contribute.

Come join us rolling up your sleeves and making a difference – together!

President's Message

Susan Josephson

It is an honor to serve as President of our Rotary Club as we embark on another exciting year of service and fellowship. With a legacy of 75 years of philanthropy and community impact, our club continues to be a beacon of generosity, leadership, and compassion.

Our 2025–2026 theme is “All Hands on Deck – Rebuild, Restore & Innovate.” This year, we are focused on growth — not just in membership, but in ideas, community partnerships, and the depth of our impact. I bring tremendous energy and commitment to this role and am dedicated to serving both our members and our community with enthusiasm and heart.

To those who are curious about Rotary or considering joining — we invite you to come aboard! Whether you’re looking to make new connections, give back, develop your leadership, or be part of something bigger than yourself, there is a place for you here.

Together, we will build on the strong foundation of those who came before us: restoring what is timeless in Rotary, rebuilding where there is need, and embracing innovation to ensure a vibrant future. I invite every member (past, present, and future) to get involved, bring your talents forward, and join me in making this a year of action and meaningful change.

Here’s to rolling up our sleeves and making a difference — together!

Yours in Service,
Susan Josephson

Act Like You Matter
Act Like You Matter

From Amy Jones Anichini, CEO, Act Like You Matter:  "I created Act Like You Matter for you, me, and the next generation of adults: to empower them to find their voice and impact their world in a positive way. Each of us has the capacity to show kindness to others, to empathize with them, and to validate them as worthwhile, but many of us could use some reminders about how to do those things and why they’re so important. Because bullying is a cycle, it’s easy to play the role we’re handed: the target who feels defeated; the bystander who turns away or is afraid to intervene; the follower who watches their friends bully others and either joins in or does nothing; the aggressor who starts the bullying. Nevertheless, no matter what role we play in the cycle of bullying, each of us can choose to behave in a different way that will curb – and maybe one day eradicate – bullying."
