Thanks to the generosity of club members with donations to The Rotary Foundation, our club has launched two huge projects.

Smart Boards for Lomita Park School: Lomita Park is the only school in the District that does not have any smart boards. These look like large screened TVs, but they have touch screens and allow teachers to show short instructional videos, drag and drop activities and simulations. These smart boards are shown to increase student engagement, support multiple learning styles, allow access to digital resources, and improve classroom collaboration. The total for 12 classrooms will be approximately $67,000 and this project will be one of the largest we've ever undertaken!

Gift of Life Project: We will work with member Dr. Reeta Thukral's foundation to provide emergency surgery for infants with cardiac abnormalities in India. These lifesaving surgeries can be provided for approximately $6,000 each and these children are expected to have go on to live healthy lives with normal life spans. We have been approved for a $10,000 grant from the Rose C. Stone Foundation to match our funds, and will be partnering with the Rotary Club of Delhi South to implement the project.

Designated Fund Agreements have been approved for both projects to allow us to partner with Millbrae Community Foundation because they are a 501c3 organization to collect additional funds for these impactful projects.
