Millbrae Rotary donated a little over $48,000 to fund Smart Boards at Lomita Park Elementary School. Smart boards enhance classroom learning by increasing engagement, supporting diverse learning styles, and promoting collaboration through interactive, multimedia-rich lessons. They facilitate better technology integration (cameras, microscopes), provide instant access to online resources, and improve efficiency by reducing paper waste. These tools improve student comprehension, raise test scores, and foster a more dynamic, interactive environment for students. Students can interact directly with content, solving puzzles or dragging elements, which increases participation and attention levels. The smart boards foster collaborative learning and provide easy access to resources.

The Smart Boards are now in every classroom in the school, and are already so heavily used that the School District is seeking funding for one to be used in the school library. Below are a few photos of the training program (Rotary members were invited to attend), and a few photos of the smart boards being used.
