Rotary Clubs in District 5150 partner together to provide a scholarship each year through Rotary's Global Scholar program. “Global Scholarships” are available through global grants for graduate students planning careers in fields that support efforts in one of Rotary’s six areas of focus: to promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water, save mothers and children, support education, and grow local economies. Students study abroad in degree programs ranging from one to four years. Former Global Scholar Alison Cox spoke to Millbrae and San Bruno Rotarians in their joint meeting about her experiences and plans. A native of South San Francisco, Alison is attending a two-year Master's program at the University of London SOAS in Migration and Diaspora Studies with Intensive Language.
