As the evening's program opened, outgoing President Marilou welcomed everyone and greeted our visiting dignitaries, including DG Leah Lambrecht and her husband Bill, Former Mayors and sitting Council members Wayne Lee and Gina Papan, School Trustees Denis Fama, Don Ravello, Maggie Musa, and Lynne Ferrario, City Manager Marcia Raines, School Superintendent Vahn Prayperset, representatives from Assemblyman Mullin and Senator Hill, former City Treasurer Mary Vella Treseler, and Past Millbrae Mayors Dan Quigg, Doris Morse, Marge Colapietro, Robert G Gottschalk, and Janet Fogarty, among others.

 

Before District Governor Leah installed Robert as our 2016 President, incoming Mills High Interactor Board members were installed by Past President Deirdri.  

Before our 2016 President was installed, the new Mills High Interact Board members were installed by Past President Deirdri. Special recognition was given to outstanding graduating senior, Donna Ye, for her 4 years of Interact service. Donna represented the best of Interact leadership as she served her senior year as District 5150 Interact co-Governor!  In recognition, our club presented Donna with a $1,000 scholarship.

Other recognitions and awards were made to Club members that evening, including multiple level Paul Harris Fellow pins to Stephen Cheung and Johnson Tu. Two Past Presidents, Carrie Chinn and Rick Chinn were presented with a Level 2 Rotary Foundation Major Donor crystal for their contribution of $25,000 or more to TRF.

 

The ceremonial evening ended with DG Leah giving former Mayor Robert Gottschalk the oath of office, Robert's inaugural remarks, installation of our 2016-17 Board of Directors and outgoing President Marilou's touching and insightful closing remarks.
