Members of the Citizens Environmental Council of Burlingame (CEC) addressed Millbrae Rotarians with information about the challenges our climate is facing. The group embodies the concept of thinking globally and acting locally, and shared many tips for how we can all do our part to address environmental concerns, including switching to Electronic Vehicles (EV), eating less meat (especially beef), using clean energy options in our homes (installing residential solar, battery storage, and taking part in renewable energy programs), and transitioning from natural gas appliances to all-electric. The CEC studies issues that come before local government and advocates for policies that address climate change, clean energy building codes, electric vehicles and EV charging stations, and other actions that ensure a more sustainable future.
