Indigenous Wisdom

Franziska is the CEO and founder of Floresta Association and The Institute of Indigenous Wisdom.

Since her first visit to the Amazon in 2016, she made it her mission to bring the voices of the indigenous communities within the Amazon rainforest to the World. The importance of rampant problems faced by those communities has gained spotlight recently during the Amazon fires and the global pandemic making Franziska's mission even more critical.

She founded the Floresta Association, a Not-for-Profit Organization in 2018 to protect the Amazon rainforest and empower the indigenous communities residing therein, with whom she is privileged to have developed a deep relationship with.

In 2021, in the spirit of advancing her mission, Franziska founded The Institute of Indigenous Wisdom, another Non-Profit Organization. The IIW is an online platform for indigenous voices so their wisdom could be easily shared with people from around the world and thus applied to bring a positive change in people's lives. The institute will provide talks, interviews, classes and courses to help solving some of the world's biggest ecological and environmental challenges we face today. So together we can learn, grow, and change.

Franziska's life's goal is to empower those who hold 80% of the protection of the biodiversity of the planet and to remind the rest of the world of the importance that these communities carry, and the wisdom they inhabit.

This presentation will be about:

  • the importance of the Amazon rainforest in our modern day world
  • why indigenous communities need support and are a vital key player when it comes to the environmental preservation of our planet

  • introducing Floresta Association

  • current Projects and help needed (sustainability project Mutum, youth conference Peru, Indigenous Wisdom online library)
