Harriet Harvey-Horn
Climate Reality Project

Our mission is to educate our friends, neighbors, and communities on the threats of the climate crisis and to motivate them to take action in the fight against it. As many of our members are in the Rotary club, we would like to give back with our presentations. My chapter has Climate Reality Project speakers trained personally by Al Gore. And it is my team's job to carry out our mission by giving informative and uplifting presentations to those around me, an example of which can be found in the following TED Talk by Mr. Gore: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVfgkFaswn4 . Our presentation answers three questions about climate change. Do we have to change? Can we change? Do we have the will to change?

Since being trained as a Climate Reality Leader and speaker in 2018, Harriet Harvey-Horn has engaged diverse audiences across Northern California in the facts about the climate crisis, its solutions and what actions individuals can take.  Prior to committing her energies to the climate, Harriet enjoyed a 35-year high tech career, in engineering, marketing, management and consulting roles. She also held numerous leadership positions on non-profit boards and volunteer organizations. Harriet holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech and an MBA from Santa Clara University, as well as several climate-related certifications.  She has logged well over 100 other Acts of Leadership with the Climate Reality Project, and also leads the Santa Clara County Chapter’s membership development and engagement efforts.  In addition to the Climate Reality Project, Harriet is active with the Foundation for Climate Restoration, 350.org and the Sierra Club. She and her husband live in Los Gatos. They have two sons in their 20’s who fuel Harriet’s passion to restore a healthy, livable habitat on Earth.
