Future of Food

Camille Richman is a mechanical engineer who started working in agriculture as a researcher at the MIT Media Lab's CityFarm project. There she operated a shipping container-sized hydroponic and aeroponic farm and designed a personal-sized controlled environment farm called the "Food Computer."  Camille was excited by the power of controlled environments to make farming possible anywhere, no matter the season. Now Camille's company HAMAMA is bringing hydroponic technologies into homes across the United States with its first product line: an affordable kit that makes growing nutrient-dense vegetables year-round easy.
