Project Amigo -


Our club is involved in and actively supports Project Amigo (PA). PA is a non-profit corporation providing medical care, educational programs, and enrichment activities to about 400 disadvantaged children. In addition to direct services to children, PA provides repairs and improvements to the facilities in which they live. San Francisco Bay Rotarians Ted Rose and Susan Hill founded Project Amigo.  While on vacation in Mexico in 1989, they witnessed first hand the extreme poverty orphaned children were subjected to, and were deeply affected by the sight of orphaned, homeless children begging for money to buy food.  Upon their return to the Bay Area, they made a decision to return to Colima, Mexico to live and care for these children. Through their efforts, these children now have shelter, food, and clothing and receive an education.
